We Need Your Help...
Over the past 13 years, we have donated over 1000 quilts to various charities. But we couldn't do this without our quilting friends.
What is Quilting Angels...
We operate our charitable quilting program through donations of fabric, quilt tops, batting, quilting services, and quilt construction. In the recent past, we have been unable to schedule work days in our Quilter's Cottage because the schedule would not permit. Our new location provides us the space and schedule we need to step up our charitable quilting and provide more quilts for those in need.
Recently, we received a large fabric donation from the Bob and Theresa Sullivan family. Together with the Quilting Angels inventory that we moved from the Cottage into town, we have a TON of fabric to sort, cut, and prepare for quilting.
My granddaughters, Addy and Avery, have had a lot of fun sorting fabric into piles by color. With a few weeks to go before we officially open our new MakerSpace, we're able sort through the fabric, measure quilt tops for backings, prepare backings, sort through partially completed projects, match fabrics together for future projects, operate the Accucut machine to cut blocks and borders, and begin stitching quilt tops together.
Would you like to have a sneak peak at our new space?
Whether you have a few minutes or a few hours, we could use your help! Grab a friend and plan a trip to downtown Woodbine. Bring a lunch, or make a day of it, and have a fun lunch at Good Fellows restaurant. Even if your friend is not an avid quilter, we can put him/her to work sorting, folding or cutting. We have machines available on site, so you don't have to bring a machine -- just bring a willing spirit!
How can you sign up to help?
Go to our website, click the Classes tab and choose the date/session that works best for you. If there is a time that works better for you that is not listed currently, just give us a call and we'll try to do our best to accommodate your schedule.
Even easier, click the link below.
We are thrilled to have the space and opportunity to spread out and focus on our Quilting Angels program. And we would LOVE to have you and your friends/family join us.
Do you have a grandchild who is showing an interest in quilting? Bring him/her along and teach the value of service learning early! It's likely that Addy and Avery will be helping as well...
Once we are fully open (August 1), we will continue to offer Quilting Angels work days frequently each month as the schedule permits.
I hope to see you soon!
