Beginner's Open Sew

Learn to quilt by working on a project of your choice.  If you prefer, you are welcome to start out on a Quilting Angels charitable project, and use some of the fabric we have on hand.

Teresa Coenen will be on hand to provide direct instruction/assistance as you learn to master the basic skills of quilting:

1.  Fabric selection and rotary cutting
2.  Thread tension, 1/4" seams and pressing
3.  Pinning and matching seams
4.  Putting rows together to form the quilt top
5.  Making a quilt sandwich and quilting (or prepare for the quilter)

Binding is taught in a separate class.

Once you have become a confident beginner, you will be ready to join our general Open Sew sessions and other classes.

The cost is $5, and you will earn $5 Storbucks

Teresa will be available from 9:30am-9:00pm.  Come and go as you please.  Bring a meal if you will be working through lunch or dinner hours.

Please call or stop by if you have any questions about supplies or fabric selection.
